In the summer of 2021, a heat wave and exceptional drought trigger giant fires that ravage 19 million hectares of northeastern Siberia. In this region, in the heart of the taiga, the village of Shologon is shrouded in a thick cloud of smoke. The black ashes carried by the wind spread alarming news: the forest is on fire and the flames are approaching. Abandoned by the state, the inhabitants mobilize to face the Dragon.
Benjamin Morando is a composer. He composes for cinema, art and contemporary dance. As a member of the groups Villeneuve & Morando, The Noise Consort, Discodeine and Octet, he has released numerous albums.
Benoit de Villeneuve is a guitarist, synthesizer collector and arranger. He has composed the music for several films, including Nicolas Pariser’s Le Grand Jeu in 2015 with Benjamin Morando, an electronic music composer and musician with whom he also worked on François Valla’s Versus in 2019. His universe and work, particularly in collaboration with Morando, is often compared to that of contemporary composers such as Mica Levi.
