TAIRA YOSHIHISA – Trichromie

Creation : 25 October 1992 at the Semaines Musicales Internationales d’Orléans
Duration : 15′

The silence after the end of the vibration of the instruments (extinction of the sound), occupies an important place in this piece. “Trichromie” contrasts the morning silence of the temple courtyard with the strength of the earth and nature, illustrated by the presence of skin instruments, such as the large taiko drum, at the end of the work.
