An evening marking a new artistic chapter for Les Percussions de Strasbourg, with the arrival of Vassilena Serafimova as Artistic Director. Several generations of musicians come together around an exceptional repertoire by women composers.

performed by three HEAR musicians and Vassilena Serafimova; - Agata Zubel – Nelumbo (2002)
a piece for four marimbas performed by Les Percussions de Strasbourg; - Betsy Jolas – États (1969)
written for Les Percussions de Strasbourg, performed here by three members of the ensemble and three students from the HEAR percussion class, together with a violinist; - 5th-grade students from Rosa Parks Primary School – Interludes à États (2026 world premieres)

This first concert at Théâtre de Hautepierre marks the arrival of Vassilena Serafimova at Les Percussions de Strasbourg. The evening celebrates both a new chapter and a legacy passed on from one generation to the next: musicians from Les Percussions de Strasbourg, young artists from HEAR and students from Rosa Parks Primary School share the stage around works by Kaija Saariaho, Agata Zubel and Betsy Jolas — three composers whose distinctive musical languages bring creation, memory and the future into dialogue.
