Les Percussions de Strasbourg joins forces with le Chœur Philarmonique de Strasbourg to perform Mikis Theodorakis’ Canto General on Sunday 04 july 2021 at the Jardin des Deux Rives in Strasbourg.
In praise of nature and fraternity, the Canto General sets to music the texts from the eponymous collection by the great Chilean poet Pablo Neruda, winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature.
Mikis Theodorakis’ composition, a generous and intense mythical work of the 1970s, combines scholarly writing and popular tradition; a sincere, profound and joyful work at the crossroads of Greek and South American cultures.
