The Day Before

The project The Day Before is directed by Christiane Jatahy, with music by composer Brigitta Muntendorf and a libretto written by Spanish novelist and journalist Rosa Montero. This creation brings together on stage the singer Sofia Jernberg, the dancer Margaux Marielle-Tréhoüart, the Hanover Girls’ Choir, Les Percussions de Strasbourg, as well as Brazilian percussionist Aduni Guedes.
Conceived as a form of immersive music theatre, the performance explores violence and the
mechanisms of war by confronting the ancient myth of the Iliad with our present time. The text is
notably inspired by the essay The Iliad, or the Poem of Force by philosopher Simone Weil,
which analyzes how violence transforms human beings into objects. The project thus offers a
contemporary and resolutely feminist reflection on war, power, and the body.
The staging places the audience at the heart of the action: the space takes the form of a bunker
turned into a party on the verge of collapse, on the eve of war. Musicians, performers, extras, and spectators share the same space, while music, live video, and an immersive sound system (including 3D audio and bone-conduction headphones) create a collective experience blending concert, theatre, and installation.
World premiere at the Wiener Festwochen festival in Vienna on May 16, 17, and 18.(+).
Then on May 23 and 24 in Hanover at the Kunstfestspiele Herrenhausen festival. (+).

A unique equestrian performance created by Hermès, directed by Solène Kuntz and Minh-Tâm Nguyen, with the participation of: Le Mas de Cisco, Les Nagaïka Tribe, and Les Percussions de Strasbourg.
The show was conceived as part of the Saut Hermès at the Grand Palais in Paris, an
international show jumping competition bringing together the world’s top riders.
The performance featured 16 percussionists, around one hundred instruments, and 10 equestrian artists, and was presented to more than 17,000 spectators.
