SCHOOL CONCERTS AT THE THÉÂTRE DE HAUTEPIERRE –

Every year, the Percussions de Strasbourg organise concerts at the Théâtre de Hautepierre in Strasbourg, including performances for schools. These last one hour, with 45 minutes of concert commentary and 15 minutes of discussion with the artists. Around these concerts, mediation actions are carried out in order to discover the universe of the composers and the ensemble but also to practice percussion with the musicians.

⚠️ THE 2022-2023 HAUTEPIERRE CONCERT SEASON IS OVER, BUT THE OTHER ACTIVITIES REMAIN ACCESSIBLE THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.
For the next school performances and guided rehearsals, see you in December 2023. To stay informed, don’t hesitate to send your contact details to rp[@]percussionsdestrasbourg.com

ACTIONS FOR SCHOOL GROUPS AND ASSOCIATIONS –

All the activities proposed below allow for an immersion in the universe of the composers featured in the concerts at Hautepierre and to prepare the participants for the evening or school concerts. They provide keys to listening and understanding the works performed and complement each other. This is why we recommend accompanying the concert with at least one of the proposed mediation activities in order to facilitate the construction of a pathway for the spectator.

In preparation for the concert: REHEARSALS WITH GUIDANCE –

Commented rehearsals are organised prior to the performances of the Percussions de Strasbourg at the Théâtre de Hautepierre. Participants can attend work sessions during which the musicians fine-tune the final details before the concert. This is an opportunity to see excerpts from the show but also to understand the different stages of creating a show. They shed light on the many professions in the world of entertainment and provide an opportunity for reflection and understanding of the work. Indeed, 20 minutes are devoted to a discussion with a mediator. This is an opportunity to discuss what you have seen and heard, to debate the artistic proposal and to relate it to the experiences and feelings of the participants.

In preparation for the concert: PRACTICE WORKSHOPS –

Les Percussions de Strasbourg invite you to learn the secrets of their favourite composers! During a 1h30 session, supervised by one of our musicians, participants are introduced to collective musical practice in a fun and friendly way. The workshop is based on the musical elements of the concerts given at the Hautepierre theatre, thus providing the participants with listening keys.

In preparation for the concert: VISITS TO THE INSTRUMENTARIUM –

The Percussions de Strasbourg offer guided tours of their instrumentarium. Guided by one of the musicians of the Percussions de Strasbourg through the many instruments of the ensemble, you are invited to enter the world of contemporary percussion for an hour. In addition to “traditional” percussion instruments, the ensemble’s instrumentarium contains many surprising and unexpected instruments.
